#4 is a tie of the best image(s) of Helios. Ironically, the model is the same between the two images which we thought could never happen. I don’t even know if she knows but Kristi is the most published, most popular, most shared, blogged, referenced, worshipped and literally revered model we have ever worked with. Within one photo shoot alone, she and I had images published across at least four publications, a minimum of eight blogs and more websites than I care to count, none of which was yet our own. She made cover on at least one of our shoots on an extremely popular limited print edition special issue glamour magazine. By their own admittance, they received thousands of entries and Kristi was chosen from among them all from all over the world.

We attribute the popularity of these two images to their uniqueness. One has a innocent mischievousness about it while the other is a cropped acrobatic masterpiece of form and sexy gracefulness emphasizing the curves of her very fit physique. 

She had no idea what I had planned for the day. The moment I saw her garment in person was the moment  I knew I had to play around with shapes and contrast mixing both organic and synthetic for a sexy playful scape using curves and contrasting shapes. By most measures it was an instant sensation. Within hours of posting the picture on our photo blog it received thousands of hits, dozens of comments and shares and I’d received more than a dozen request for blog publishing rights. Everyone wanted to right about it or try to copy it. You might say that we were very proud of what we had accomplished using a little imagination. 

Even now her closeup adorns the pages of several blogs after several bloggers asked for permission to have it as their header (something we don’t give or permit lightly or easily). We’ve had writers comment and even write about these images more than any other; not just comments or shout outs but real commentary on our technique and moreso on how exotically captivating Kristi is. 

She is certainly the most daring model I’ve ever photographed. It’s ironic how shy and timid she can appear to be until it’s photo time. When the test strobes flashes she immediately goes bold and takes total control. She is so comfortable to be around and she brings such intense energy and skill. Glamour is her thing and we have yet to meet anyone that does it better. 

What Are We Shooting?

What photography do we like to do? Naturally, paid assignments take priority. That's a given. But we're fans of most photography if not all. However, for publishing and personal projects, fashion, beauty and avant garde take priority. We’re also major fans of fitness in general so most opportunities to shoot fitness under the right circumstances we’re willing to do. The truth is, we're more likely to take on a fashion editorial or even a fitness project over a lingerie one. It's just our taste. 

The trends lately has favored glamour and lingerie. While we love beautiful lingerie and glamour as much as the next person it has become our priority to take on such projects with extreme tastefulness while still being sexy and stimulating. Too often have we witnessed lingerie slide slowly into distaste and pointless sexual exhibitionism. We're convinced that lingerie can still be gorgeous, sexy and sensual without going too far. We've use Victoria's Secret as a benchmark. They've always been tasteful, sexy, glamorous and beautiful without overstepping decency. They have found that perfect balance of what we coin as "acceptable sin." But there is nothing sinful about looking, wanting and being sexy and even showing it off a little. We'll be exploring this topic more in forthcoming issues of Sircus Magazine.

Swimwear is wonderful; the beach, the water, sunshine; who wouldn't love it? Categorically, it's nowhere in the vicinity of lingerie to us. Same amount of skin showing - perhaps less, but it's just not the same. We akin a well poised swimwear photo shoot to a fashion one. We approach it the same way. We still consider accessories and lighting and props. Our fav is swimwear with separates like jackets, heels, and clutches. If we can bring fashion to the beach we're down for it. 

Art nude is also a favorite of ours. Strangely, it is one of the most sublime and less sexualized than one might think. It is far more about light sculpting and mood than about the person; It's an exploration that admires and highlights the human form. It takes a special person to do art nude modeling and a special team to shoot them. We're fortunate to have done a few and we have always been pleased with the results. 

For the more immediate future the plan for publishing will fashion editorials, beauty and avant garde. Naturally, we will always consider different ideas all throughout the year. Our TF or "trade for" assignments are minimal to almost non existent. Currently, nearly every shoot is a paid assignment by a client or model or used almost strictly for print magazine publishing or online publishing. It doesn't mean an immediate "No." It just means we want our minds blown about an idea before we will even consider it.

Schedules and release dates have been moved, changed and updated but we are working diligently to bring you Issue 6 of Sircus Magazine.

Valentine's Day Photo Ideas

It's coming fast. Valentine's Day is but a few days away and I hope you have your thinking hats for some great gift ideas.

It is often touted as a holiday for women. But I believe it's simply because no one has asked guys what they want. Sure we're not all bent on chocolates and flowers or super long candlelit dinners. But all men love women. We love them even more when they're being spontaneous and seductively unpredictable.

So what exactly do we want? We want excitement, mystery and memories that makes us smile years later. All that and a good meal with some sleep and we're good to go.

The most sought after idea as of late are tastefully captured boudoir and lingerie pics in a beautifully bound folio book with glossy page after page of sugar and spice. Also, canvased prints are ever more popular and becoming increasingly more affordable; some from 8" x 10" up to 30" x 40." if you're super smart about it it will come across as a complete surprise when you surprise him/her.

I'm not condoning sending tasteless pics with your smartphone to the new boyfriend or girlfriend you met last week. I'm suggested something more tasteful and long lasting given to someone you've made a serious commitment. I don't think the man or woman, guy or girl you met yesterday or earlier this month qualifies. Funny how that works. I don't recommend it if you don't have a deep level of maturity in you, in your significant other and in your relationship as a whole.

Consider a boudoir or lingerie photo shoot. Or even consider a tastefully playful portrait with just a tinge of zest to make your significant other smile. It's 2012 folks; live a little.
